The “Association of Kun Khmer Federation – India” serves as the primary authority governing and fostering the growth of Kun Khmer across all age groups and styles, encompassing both male and female categories throughout India. Affiliated with International Federations operating under the Olympic Charter and Fold, it operates under the umbrella of the Kun Khmer International Federation Headquartered in Cambodia.
AKKFI will be a place where everybody is allowed to practice KUN KHMER in all its aspects regardless of it being for fitness, confidence, cultural art form of competition; without discrimination based on color, gender, race language, religion, or social origin, or any other status – the sport belongs to everybody in the country.
The history of the art of KUN KHMER, which is the backbone of the sport, will provide AKKFI with a rich cultural heritage, which will become indivisible from the practice of the sport itself. Growing from a base of culture, the practice of KUN KHMER will promote cultural exchange at a national level. The values inherent to the practice of the sport are also universal values, which will make it an easy sport to adopt and identify with. Broadening the reach and appeal of KUN KHMER will be one of the keystones of AKKFI development plan, as the potential of grassroots KUN KHMER will engage and will ensure rich resource to continue future success and growth of the sport.
Our mission is to revive, preserve, and propagate Kun Khmer as a respected combat sport in India.We aim to provide a structured, inclusive, and globally recognized martial arts platform that enables Indian athletes — regardless of gender or background — to train, compete, and represent the nation on international stages.
Our vision is to establish India as a global leader in Kun Khmer, recognized not only for its skilled athletes but also for its cultural commitment, disciplined training systems, and inclusive sporting environment. We envision a future where Indian fighters proudly represent the nation at international platforms such as the SEA Games, World Championships, and global Kun Khmer events.
Through strong grassroots development, certified coaching programs, and nationwide training centers, we aim to build a self-sustaining ecosystem that nurtures talent from all walks of life. By integrating Kun Khmer into schools, colleges, and communities, and promoting gender equality in combat sports, we aspire to make Kun Khmer a household name across India — blending ancient tradition with modern ambition.
Our vision is for AKKFI to become recognized as an official sport Nationwide, by getting recognitions from as many School games, university games, Khelo India, ministry of youth affairs and sports and ultimately wants to become an Olympic sport. This achievement will be not so easy and will need great common efforts from all of us, but the sport should have no lesser ambition.
AKKFI aims to spread the sport of Kun Khmer throughout India, maintaining its traditional integrity and ensuring a uniform set of rules, working mutually for the sport and the athletes.
AKKFI seeks to encourage and develop the practice of Kun Khmer in the following aspects:
1.As A Cultural Art Form
2.As a Competition Ring Sport
3.Like a Self-Defense Tool
These different aspects of KUN KHMER will make the sport accessible to all ages and genders, further taking into account mobility limitations and impairments, which some practitioners may have.
AKKFI is focused on developing KUN KHMER as a National Combat Sport, from the Recreational level to the elite, driving the development of common sets of rules, safety regulations, structure, progression pathways, and mutual exchange.
By your continuous support, we aim to increase the number of State Associations achieving State Sport Authorities and State Olympic Associations recognition, as well as support from their other significant sports organizations.
AKKFI is focused on gaining Nationwide recognition for the combat sport of KUN KHMER. The official recognition is needed on regional and National levels to increase opportunities and benefits for the sport’s participants.
In States in which there are no existing state KUN KHMER Associations, AKKFI will support those who are ready, able, and dedicated to forming such a State Association.
AKKFI will work continually to improve the image of KUN KHMER in the eyes of the general public for all its aspects – a recreational hobby, self-protection, amateur, and professional sports events.
AKKFI will provide rules and regulations, educational systems, which are developed democratically through our expert committees.
AKKFI Will organize elite amateur National tournaments and professional events as well, all over the Country. Every year AKKFI will organize amateur Championships for Seniors, Youths, Cadets, Juniors, and Kids. AKKFI strives to deliver high level competitive and promotional opportunities to the widest range of stakeholders possible.
AKKFI will be a democratic organization based on the foundation of open and honest practices. This applies to everything from elections and governance to everyday tasks.
AKKFI will be a stable, skilled, autonomous, dedicated, and modern organization which will provide a structure for the growth of KUN KHMER. AKKFI will have knowledgeable representatives who will always act in a professional manner.
AKKFI will be a driven organization with the vision necessary to bring KUN KHMER into the future in India.
